Sylheti used to have it's own writing. And this is the first character in the Sylheti alpabet

Sylheti used to have it's own writing, called Sylheti Nagari. From the banks of the Surma river to the market stalls of Whitechapel, it is coming back into circulation.

This character is "A" (pronounced Aa আ), which is the first character of the Sylheti Nagari alphabet. Note how easy it is to write. I personally prefer to put a line across the top as it makes it easier to read.

If you are a language enthusiast, no problem. If you are Sylheti, THEN THIS SHOULD BE SECOND NATURE TO YOU! For more information visit www.Sylheti.org.uk
